Legal Assistant / Paralegal (Portsmouth)
Due to continued growth, the firm is now seeking an experienced Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join the hardworking but friendly team at our Portsmouth office. Supporting the Insolvency & Restructuring Team, this will involve legal assistance and administrative support, including research, client liaison and case work.
Duties to include but not limited to:
- Preparation of documents, fact checking, preparing evidence and tracking case developments
- Researching and compiling information and documentation
- Liaising internally and externally to gather information
- Administrative office work
- Managing, organising and maintaining documents in electronic filing systems
- Preparing legal documentation for Court Hearings
- Drafting and proofreading correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings and contracts
About You:
Previous civil litigation, debt recovery and/or insolvency experience would be advantageous although not essential. You will ideally have/be:
- A law degree and/or LPC qualification
- Prior experience of working in a solicitors practice
- Able to build relationships at all levels, communicate effectively and build trust
- Exceptional attention to detail
- A positive and proactive approach to solving problems
- Willing to support colleagues and peers
- A genuine ability to multi-task and support a busy litigation team
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Good IT skills inc; Microsoft Word & Excel
- Be able to work under minimal supervision
