Director

Tom joined Isadore Goldman in 2023 and before that was a partner in the insolvency team at a top 100 law firm.

Tom acts on a variety of contentious insolvency matters; pursuing claims for officeholders and defending and resolving claims for directors, bankrupts and their families.

Tom’s recent experience includes:

Pursuing a claim on behalf of a victim of a transaction defrauding creditor

Pursuing various misfeasance and antecedent transaction claims for liquidators

Advising a bankrupt and his wife facing a claim in relation to the existence and operation of trusts under attack by a Trustee in Bankruptcy, and

Advising a company director subject to various claims and contractual obligations with a multi-million-pound liability.

Tom acts on both sides of claims and aims to resolve disputes in a commercial and pragmatic way, while fighting fiercely on truly important points.

Tom also deals with a range of advisory and enforcement work, assisting; directors facing insolvency risks, creditors looking to secure recoveries and officeholders dealing with complicated issues in their appointments.

Recent examples include:

Acting for a lender enforcing security over assets and pursuing three guarantors, resulting in bankruptcies, and making significant recoveries to date with more anticipated

Acting for the administrators of a classic car dealership, addressing competing claims to ownership of vehicle assets, addressing, and discharging undertakings, freezing injunctions and other third-party restrictions over assets and dealing with various global claims, and

Advising directors and charity trustees in relation to solvency, personal risks and practical options.

Tom is a member of the Insolvency Lawyers’ Association and a Regional Council Member of R3, the Association of Business Recovery Professionals, for London and the Southeast.  He is also listed as a Key Lawyer in the Legal 500.
